Oι Florence and The Machine, οι Vaccines, oι Arctic Monkeys και οι Kasabian, ήταν μερικά από τα ονόματα που έφυγαν με το ευφάνταστο αγαλματίδιο-βραβείο των NME Awards.
Οι Pulp παρέλαβαν το βραβείο Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution To Music και έπαιξαν ζωντανά τα αγαπημένα “Babies” και “Mis-Shapes”.
Οι Smiths ήταν οι νικητές στην κατηγορία Best Reissue με τον Johnny Marr να παραλαμβάνει το βραβείο και να το αφιερώνει στα υπόλοιπα πρώην μέλη του γκρουπ.
Ο δε Noel Gallagher, τιμήθηκε όπως είχε ανακοινωθεί με τον τίτλο “Godlike Genius”, κάτι που δεν ξέρουμε πόσο καλό έκανε στο ήδη φουσκωμένο του «εγώ». Αφού λοιπόν η αίθουσα παρακολούθησε ένα video με τον Ray Davies, τον Paul Weller, τον Brandon Flowers κ.α να μιλάνε με θαυμασμό γι αυτόν, ο Νoel πήρε το βραβείο του λέγοντας: “Σε όλα τα γκρουπ που επηρεάστηκαν από μένα, έχω να πω… δεν κάνει τίποτα (you’re welcome).”
